It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (2/7)

It's Monday! What Are You Reading is weekly meme which is started by Sheila from One Persons Journey Through a World of Books. It's been a year since the first post. But for me this is the 8th week

Last week, I read
  • In The Miso Soup,
  • Pretties,
  • Ghostgirl #1: Rest In Popularity, and
  • Vampyre Kisses.
I will try to write the review and post it here.

My currently reading is Ghostgirl #2 : Homecoming by Tonya Harley. I am also reading Vampire Academy #1 . The picture below is Indonesian cover.

From Goodreads

St. Vladimir's Academy isn't just any boarding school—it's a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They've been on the run, but now they're being dragged back to St. Vladimir's—the very place where they're most in danger...

Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy's ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world's fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.

Finally I understand what they call as Moroi and Dhampir. I love this book.

This week I plan to Human Blend by Lori Pescatore. It's a self publish book. I got it from a giveaway that was hosted by Moonlight Gleam.

From Goodreads
Marion, Virginia seemed like a nice place to live a normal life, but she is not a normal girl. Laney has special abilities that keep her looking over her shoulder as she makes her escape from the men who had kidnapped her. A young doctor's interest is piqued when he witnesses her mysteriously curing a young child's illness. He befriends her due to his growing fascination with uncovering the true nature of her abilities, but not without harboring secrets of his own. Laney's budding relationship with a local boy puts both of them in danger when the men she was hiding from find her. All of their lives will change forever as ancient secrets become unearthed

Frostbite (Vampire Academy 2) is also on my list

From Goodreads
Rose loves Dimitri, Dimitri might love Tasha, and Mason would die to be with Rose…

It's winter break at St. Vladimir's, but Rose is feeling anything but festive. A massive Strigoi attack has put the school on high alert, and now the Academy's crawling with Guardians—including Rose's hard-hitting mother, Janine Hathaway. And if hand-to-hand combat with her mom wasn't bad enough, Rose's tutor Dimitri has his eye on someone else, her friend Mason's got a huge crush on her, and Rose keeps getting stuck in Lissa's head while she's making out with her boyfriend, Christian! The Strigoi are closing in, and the Academy's not taking any risks… This year, St. Vlad's annual holiday ski trip is mandatory.
But the glittering winter landscape and the posh Idaho resort only create the illusion of safety. When three friends run away in an offensive move against the deadly Strigoi, Rose must join forces with Christian to rescue them. But heroism rarely comes without a price…
The translation of the third book is already published also. But I have not purchased it

What are you reading? and w
hat do you think about the Vampire Academy #1 and #2 covers?

It's Monday, What Are You Reading (1/31)

It's Monday What Are You Reading is weekly meme which is started by Sheila from One Persons Journey Through a World of Books.

Last week, I just could post one review, Magna by Nicole O'dell.
I think I need to learn more how to write review and not to left them as draft.

The book that I have finished reading The Good Omen and The Hollow by Jessica Verday . The last book was not on my plan. I read it because my friend wanted me to check the typo.

I am still reading In The Miso Soup, Pretties and The Vampyre Kisses. I think I need my own ebook reader. I have not got used to read ebook. :(

Now move to the book that I plan to read for this week.

Ghostgirl : Rest In Popularity

"Now I lay me down to sleep,

I pray the Lord my soul to keep.

And if I should die before I awake,

I pray the popular attend my wake."

~~~
Charlotte Usher feels practically invisible at school, and then one day she really is invisible. Even worse: she's dead. And all because she choked on a gummy bear. But being dead doesn't stop Charlotte from wanting to be popular; it just makes her more creative about achieving her goal.
If you thought high school was a matter of life or death, wait till you see just how true that is. In this satirical, yet heartfelt novel, Hurley explores the invisibility we all feel at some times and the lengths we'll go to be seen.
That's the first book of Ghostgirl. I also plan to read The Second book. They have been in my bookshelf FOREVER. Penerbit Atria, the local publisher, is about to published the third book, Ghostgirl: Lovesick.
Ghostgirl : Homecoming
Heaven couldn't be a phone bank, could it?
Charlotte Usher discovers that the afterlife isn't quite what she pictured when she's forced to intern at a hotline for troubled teens. Before she can officially cross over, she'll have to be a source of guidance for one such teen. The problem is she doesn't have much advice to offer since dying hasn't exactly boosted her confidence level.
But when Hawthorne High's leading, love-to-hate cheerleader Petula and her gothic little sis' Scarlet find themselves suddenly resting-in-peace in comas, Charlotte's opportunity to save them will prove to be the risk of a lifetime-for all of them
The covers are lovely, aren't they?. Those are above are Indonesian design. I also have checked the US cover. They are also gorgeous.
I hope I can write more review next month. Big hope that review challenge will help me a lot.
So What are you reading, guys?
Waiting On Wednesday (1/26) : Ghostgirl: Lovesick (Ghostgirl #3)
Before she can rest in peace, Charlotte Usher must return to the tragic site of her death: high school. Once there, her assignment is to help a designated teen solve a personal problem in time for the all-important prom. But no one explained what happens if you fall in love with your class project. Charlotte would die (again) for love but facing the all-too-familiar feeling of invisibility may be too much for her to swallow.
(Synopsis from Goodreads)
This is the third book of Ghostgirl series. The English copy has been published in July 12th 2010 by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. I have got the first and second book. They have been in my bookshelf FOREVER. By posting it in my WOW this week, I hope it will become a reminder to me to read the series soon.
The cover is cute, isn't it? I have compared it with US cover, I prefer that cover above.
Have anyone read this series?
